Terms and Conditions
Effective: October 28, 2026 · ServiceDogKit, Canada (“ServiceDogKit”, “we”, “us”)
Important notice
ServiceDogKit does not certify, register, license or approve any animal, and does not assess or verify any person's disability. No government registry or certification for service animals or emotional support animals exists in the United States, and no national registry exists in Canada. The products sold on this site (the "Kit") are identification, educational and template materials only; they are not a legal document and confer no legal right of access, tenancy, travel or accommodation under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Housing Act, the Air Carrier Access Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Canadian Human Rights Act, the Accessible Transportation for Persons with Disabilities Regulations, any provincial or state human rights, accessibility or service-animal statute, or any other law. You may still be required to provide additional documents and proof that your animal is a service animal or assistance animal, including a letter from your own licensed health professional, evidence of task training, government-issued provincial certification where it exists, airline forms, vaccination records and municipal licences, and a landlord, carrier, business or government body may lawfully refuse an animal that does not meet the applicable legal definition regardless of the Kit. Knowingly misrepresenting an animal as a service animal, misrepresenting yourself as a person with a disability, or falsifying support-animal documentation is an offence in many US states and Canadian provinces and may result in fines, imprisonment, civil liability, eviction, denial of boarding or other legal consequences; you are solely responsible for any such use. The Kit does not entitle an emotional support animal to the rights and privileges accorded by law to a guide, signal or service dog. Nothing on this site is legal, medical or professional advice.
1. Agreement
These Terms govern your access to and use of this website and your purchase of the Kit. By using the site or clicking the acknowledgements on the order page you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not purchase or use the Kit. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and have legal capacity to contract.
2. What the Kit is and is not
2.1 The Kit consists of: (i) a browser-based tool that lets you print a self-declared identification card; (ii) an informational guide summarising publicly available laws and government guidance in the United States and Canada; (iii) editable templates; and (iv) a reference table of penalty laws. All content is general information compiled from public sources as of the edition date.
2.2 The identification card is created by you from information you enter. We do not verify any of it. The card states on its face that it is identification only and is not issued or recognised by any government. You must not alter the card to remove or obscure that statement, and you must not describe the card, the Kit or ServiceDogKit as a certification, registration, licence, accreditation, approval or legal document.
2.3 The Kit is not: a certification or registration of any kind; a letter, assessment, diagnosis or opinion from a health professional; proof of disability; proof of training; a guarantee that any person or entity will admit your animal; or legal advice. We do not employ, contract or refer health professionals, and we do not provide or arrange letters.
2.4 Laws and government guidance change and vary by jurisdiction. The guide and templates may be incomplete, out of date or inapplicable to your situation. You are responsible for verifying any information against primary sources and for obtaining professional advice where appropriate.
3. Your representations and obligations
You represent and agree that: (a) you have read the Important Notice above; (b) you will use the Kit only for lawful purposes and only in connection with an animal that you honestly believe meets the applicable legal definition of a service animal or assistance/support animal, or for educational purposes; (c) you will not represent an animal as a service animal, or yourself as a person with a disability, unless that is true; (d) you will not represent the Kit as conferring any legal status; (e) you are not a resident of, and are not purchasing for use by a resident of, California, Hawaii, Arkansas and Michigan, or any other jurisdiction we have excluded from sale; (f) all information you provide at checkout is accurate; and (g) you are solely responsible for complying with all laws that apply to you, including laws on misrepresentation of service animals.
4. Excluded jurisdictions
We do not currently offer the Kit to residents of California, Hawaii, Arkansas and Michigan, or to anyone outside the United States and Canada. If we learn after purchase that you are a resident of an excluded jurisdiction, we may cancel your access and refund your purchase, and you agree we have no further obligation to you.
5. Price, payment and delivery
Prices are shown in US dollars for US customers and Canadian dollars for Canadian customers and may change without notice; the price at checkout governs. Applicable sales taxes, GST/HST or PST may be added. Payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. under its own terms; we do not store your card details. The Kit is delivered electronically immediately after payment via the confirmation page link. You are responsible for keeping that link; we may re-send it on request to the email used at checkout.
6. Refunds
See the Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In summary: the Kit is a digital product delivered instantly and all sales are final, subject to the exceptions in that policy and any non-waivable consumer rights.
7. Licence and intellectual property
On payment we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Kit for your own use. You may print the card and templates for yourself. You may not resell, redistribute, publish, sublicense or make the Kit available to others, or use our name or marks to suggest endorsement. All content, design and code remain our property or that of our licensors.
8. Acceptable use of the website
You may not: access the Kit without paying; attempt to circumvent purchase verification; scrape, copy or mirror the site; interfere with its operation; or use it for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate access for breach.
9. No professional relationship
No attorney-client, physician-patient, therapist-client or other professional relationship is created by your use of this site or the Kit, by any email correspondence, or by any template. Our communications are general information only.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and the kit are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, currency, title or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the kit will result in any accommodation, access, tenancy or travel outcome, that the information is correct or up to date, or that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties; in those jurisdictions the exclusions apply to the fullest extent permitted. For Quebec consumers, nothing in these terms limits the legal warranties under the consumer protection act (Quebec).
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ServiceDogKit, its owner, affiliates, contractors and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for loss of housing, travel, access, profits, data or goodwill, or for any fine, penalty, charge, eviction, denial of boarding or other consequence arising from your use or misuse of the kit or from any representation you make about an animal, however caused and under any theory of liability. Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the site or the kit will not exceed the amount you paid us for the kit in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ServiceDogKit and its owner from any claim, loss, liability, penalty or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misrepresentation of any animal or of yourself, your violation of any law, or your use of the Kit.
13. Governing law and disputes
13.1 Canadian customers. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Subject to any non-waivable consumer-protection rights in your province, you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario. Nothing in this section prevents you from bringing a claim in your province's small claims court or under your province's consumer protection legislation where that legislation so provides.
13.2 United States customers. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally within 30 days of written notice to support@servicedogcertificate.net will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, conducted remotely or in your home county, except that either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court. You and ServiceDogKit waive any right to a jury trial and to participate in a class, collective or representative action. You may opt out of arbitration by emailing support@servicedogcertificate.net within 30 days of purchase with the subject “Arbitration opt-out”.
13.3 Informal resolution first: before starting any proceeding, contact support@servicedogcertificate.net and allow 30 days for us to try to resolve the issue.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms, the Kit and the site at any time. The version in force when you purchase governs that purchase; continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance for future use.
15. General
If any provision is unenforceable it will be modified to the minimum extent necessary and the remainder will continue. These Terms, together with the policies referenced, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Kit. We may assign these Terms; you may not. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Notices to us: support@servicedogcertificate.net. Notices to you: the email used at checkout.
